Thanks a lot Kai, I didn't know about that thread. Very interesting.
Unfortunately I don't know how to produce a Windows executable; only linux binaries.

try looking up and installing MinGW

This is pretty cool - complies cleanly under Mac , I'm sure linux will compile too. Will be using this to teach my grandkids how to play chess. ( All 6 and younger - working on the moves now 8-)
