The 17th edition of the International GSEI Tournament will be held in Norcia (PG) ITALY from 10 to 11 of September 2016. It is the facto the Italian chess software championship, open to anyone.

Any and only original softwares can partecipate, following the rules that you can find on GSEI site:

The hotel is very cheap and the location is very very nice, for singles and families.

The location is an explosion of nature, good food and wine, with no expensive hotel and a lot of near little towns and villages to see. Norcia is know for truffle and food based on pork and sausages. In the nearest, one can do rafting or visits the Castelluccio land, an amazing site that looks like an alien land.

For religious, Norcia is the born town of San Benedetto, the European patron. Near there is Cascia, born town of Santa Rita da Cascia and Rome is at only 180 Km whyle the adriatico sea is at one hour of driving.

A week of chess engine matches and a very relaxing holyday: why not partecipate?

After an internal poll, we have changed an important rule of our annual tournament, to help foreign players to partecipate. Now we can accept, with some restriction, programmers (or other active member of an engine team) who want to play using a remote connection to the engine.

We can accept only original softwares (not clones and derivates) and the remote access will be accepted only for those programmers who have already partecipate in international competitions, not online, or to G6 tournaments since 2012 (last 4 years). "Remote access" means that the programmer must partecipate personally and connect remotely to its playing machine. The scope of our tournament is to meet team members, not to win anything.

The tournament director (I) can allows remote access but not must allows. Of course if you have partecipate in competition as one of the recent WCCC there'll be no problem. In case of doubt, contact me directly or on g-sei.org site.

This new rule make easier to partecipate for foreigner but even for Italian players.
