Not easy to win against engine, the upper line was against SF with komodo’s help, surely not the best line, but SF sees the end- position falsely as =+ only.

So it seems author’s line indeed is to be denied, maybe 1…Bb4+ does work too still as Black win but not with 2…Ne3(?) anymore, after 5.Kxc2 it’s a drawn 7some position
