If most of the search and evaluation techniques from Shokidoki are in CrazyWa why would I include CrazyWa in this tournament? Or perhaps you want CrazyWa be entered instead of Shokidoki.

I wrote Takeshi last December and said they would support such activity. I wrote him today the details (rules/conditions) of the tournament as he was asking this last December.

But they are not. In fact none of them are. It is a completely different engine. Unless you count alpha-beta pruning, late-move reductions and the piece-square tables. But then you might as well exclude all other engines.

Or perhaps you want CrazyWa be entered instead of Shokidoki.

Actually I would prefer that. It would be more interesting for me to see how CrazyWa performs w.r.t. other engines at log TC.

Great. It seems the UEC mini-Shogi site was destroyed by hackers, though. Currently it is down. But perhaps he can e-mail the authors from his list.

In the (admittedly unlikely) case that Takeshi Ito's efforts would interest some Japanese engine developers to participate, wouldn't it be wise to mention on your web page that the tourney is still open for registration (and that engines that use WB protocol or USI are acceptable)? The way it looks now is that everything is final,which could discourage people. The Taiwanese are also quite active in development of mini-Shogi engines.

It is a pity that this GA-Sho!!!!!!!!! engine is so ridiculously resource-consuming.
