Hi Frank!

I was just wondering about this 64bit version, because it's more than 10 years old,
and I don't think that in 2006 64bit programs were already as usual as today.
But ok, it's just a pity ...

Nevertheless many thanks for all your other uploads - really a great and interesting stuff! :)

Regards,
Franz

Hi Franz & Frank,

AFAIK, there never was a 32bit Gandalf 32-Bit version.

2006: AMD Athon X64 X2 2 (two!) cores. High end hardware those days 8-)

That's why it is only is able to use 2 cores.

Still, a very nice program.

Enjoy it!

Best wishes,

Hi Andre,

often computerchess people coming and going. Today I have not the energy I had in the past. The time today is more important and other persons are in first position with great works. The current Stockfish and Komodo projects for two examples. The Work the Andscacs or Fizbo programmers and all the others current programmers do.

I try to do a bit all the time but often enough I made mistakes. For myself is important to bring my book project to an end. Maybe I will try to create a new test-set, also with some ideas I have here in combination with Wasp ... here I will help a bit in the future.

Much more important ... your mail to Gandalf 7 and your support here. I am very happy about it. QuisiQuasi blabla can be very boring I think (must be hard for the others to read it) ... because often I life to the topic computer chess in the past.

:-)

Thank you again Andre!!

Best
Frank

Pity Gandalf 7.0 only uses 2 Threads. Is it possible for Steen to fix this issue , and let Gandalf use as many cores as possible, depends on what machine one have ?

So far no crashes in latest Shredder GUI, been testing with long and short time controls.

Here's the first spectacular game from G7, which albeit a loss, is a very nice game.

Opponent is Rhetoric set at 50% material (which I call Rhetoric Dynamic).

Looking forward to the G7 wins as they come in too!
