Does SF include the maximum quiescent depth achieved when displaying the PV to the screen? That might explain the extra depth and low node counts that SF seems to have over other engines. I consider quiescent ply as negative depth, and quiescent moves are never displayed. In the case of BK#2, the SF display is actually showing the results of a two ply search:
