What is your opinion about the following case(cheating?)

There was a team tournament at time control of 20 minutes per game+5 seconds per move between children under 8 years old.


In one of the rounds the coach of player A saw that in the next round player A is supposed to play against player B(because player A is board 1 of team 1 when player B is board 1 of team 2).

Player A already played with player B in the past so the coach of player B wanted player B to be prepared for some line that he expected to be in the game in order to win(based on the logical assumption that player A repeat the same opening).

Until now everything is ok and of course everybody is allowed to prepare at home against their opponent.

The problem is that the coach of player B did not prepare player A in the right time.

The other games in the tournament already started and people from the team of player B asked the arbiter to wait and not press the clock because player B needed to go to the toilet(and usually the organizers of the tournament allow a small delay of a game because of this reason).

Player A waited 10 minutes before player B came back and the result was that player B played the opening moves fast and won the game and player B admitted later that he prepared the opening at the time that his opponent waited.

Player A claim that his opponent was cheating.
Of course player B could also prepare before the game at home but it is not a preperation that is easy to memorize and by preparing exactly before the game at the time he was supposed to play,
player B got an unfair advantage.

Player B had less than 10 minutes on the clock at the end of the game that he won so it is not clear if player B could win the game assuming that player B started with 10 minutes on the clock instead of 20 minutes.

What is your opinion?
1)Should people take steps against player B or against his team or against the coach?
2)Should people cancel the result of the game in a way that it is not considered for rating.

If you claim to want time to go to the bathroom but use the time for something else (and in this case to gain an advantage), then that is dishonest.

So I don't like what the player did.
I have no idea if it violates formal rules.

It was not correct ,but we're talking about 8 year olds and I'm not sure how it came to be that it was known he used his bathroom time for prepare analysis, but the fact it came out suggests that least the 8 year was not fully aware of how unethical it was. More disturbing, and I'm not sure if I have all the known facts, but it appears the coach of player B encouraged this behavior. What would we do to an 8 year old and would you punish an 8 year for something like this. I would be inclined not to, except for a brief discussion that this behavior is not acceptable - but if there way any way to punish the coach of player b for what happened? I'm not sure, but maybe rules need to be made more clear that a request for bathroom time and to delay start the game of the game - should be just for bathroom time. It's a sad state of affairs.
