Another Stockfish attack, with the thematic piece sac 38.Nf5!

Very nice theoretical discussion in the Benoni (the engines were on their own starting with the 4th move). Crazy pawn configuration after 52... a3. Good game by Komodo.

A powerful win by Stockfish. 9.b3! is a very strong exchange sacrifice and black should not have accepted it.

    Hi Bram,

Maybe you'd like to try my new testsuite on the King's Indian Mar del Plata variation:

    http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforu ... ?tid=32177

I suspect that in pure blitz black might not do so well, but perhaps I am wrong.

    Hi Jeroen,
off course I would like to try this on my AMD Ryzen at longer TC but I am going for a holiday soon so I just started a short run TC 3m2s 2x on my I5 laptop
    After 18 games +7 -3 =8 for asmFish 170522 vs Komodo 11.01
Very difficult openings for human and engines

    Hi Bram,

OK, in any case: thanks for playing this match! I think that in blitz a lot of these Mar del Plata positions prove too difficult to play for engines as black, sometimes black needs to make very deep moves and/or sacrifices to stay in the game.

Still, it will be interesting to see how they will perform in this match.
