Hello, I am so happy: the first buyer has arrived.
and his name is: Daniel Jose Queralto.
big thanks to you Daniel!
you saved my day, and probably also my life!
my morale was so low, 4 wasted years and not a single person liking it...
I hope you add at least 300 elo with some ideas you find in this book.
PS. I hope I did not oblige you to buy the hard way, should one be doing like that, well, now, why has not at least a single person from the SF team tried to buy?
are not they going to try some patches with it?

thanks for the support, Jean-Batiste.JJJ wrote:Secret of chess could seem déjà vu and too generalist mon ami.
But keep faith and patience, you ll see then.
when I wrote it, I did not check for any similar names.
just yesterday I saw GM Moris Ashley has written a book, sold by chessbase, titled 'The secret to chess'.
there is also Secret to the endgame and Secret to Defence by one of the GMs involved in the publishing of quality chess, maybe Mihai Marin.
but that should be about all what has to do with secrets.
probably I should have named it No Secrets in chess...

Free copies
as said, Louis Zulli, Carl Langan and Joerg Oster are due free copies.
please drop me a mail at the address specified at the site.
maybe I forget someone else right now, but no time to think more.
giving 3 free copies every single buy would not be that bad after all, would it?
PS. now, would not you also claim your free copies?
please, don't tell me you are just not interested in the book at all...

You're welcome. Lyudmil.
As a matter of fact, I bought mainly to understand better the secrets of most of your postings here.
Just kidding again, as you know, wish you well with your book

Sounds intriguing.Lyudmil Tsvetkov wrote:Hello everyone.
I wrote a new book, titled 'The Secret of Chess'.
It is available for a modest charge here: http://www.secretofchess.com
I would have offered the book free to everyone on this forum, but, unfortunately, I had to leave my job couple of years ago, to be able to fully concentrate on chess.
So, my only alternative to trying to sell a few copies would be to go taxi-driving. (In Bulgaria, most educated people drive taxis)
More about the book and some excerpts on the above site.
PS. If anyone buys, please advise if things work, I am doing this for the first time.
As a professional copywriter for chess products (have written advertising used by iChess, Chess 24, ICC etc), I'll give a few tips about your site.
1. Nowhere on the site, especially the critically important landing page, does it outline the benefit to the reader (i.e What will happen when I read your book - Whats in it for me?)
2. I couldn't find the price anywhere - even on the buy now page!
3. No proof. Perhaps give a bunch of copies away in exchange for reviews and then use those reviews as testimonials on your landing page.
4. Liberal use of mis-sized stock images makes it look amateurish. Replace them with excerpts, diagrams and the best quotes from the book.
5. Get a nice cover made ($5 on fiverr.com) and also get it made into a 3d style cover for display on the landing page.
These tweaks alone will 100x your conversion rates.
You're welcome.

Re: First Buyer!
I also propose that the price at least should be in the buyers page.
