A pity perhaps, but both engines and also Houdini 5 agree on and would play this forced drawing line I gave without comment

Yeah, but 85% draws..... That is most amazing! One would expect a lot more wins using such gambits.

Aha, OK. If you need a draw in a complex position, leave it to the top engines

Any chance of a King's gambit match using my new King's gambit suite!? I am sure that one will be at least as entertaining as this gambit match!

Yes i agree, the engines are way to clever for us besides for some who are living in their own parallel world

First match TC 3m2s 2cpu with kings gambit has started on my laptop and believe it or not still 34draws (63%) +10 -10 =34 after 54 games with asmfish170810 and Komodo 11.2.2

At least 63% draws is less 'bad' than the 85% in the Twenty gambits match ;-).

Did this match already conclude? I am curious about the result.

Result was a small win +21 -18 =61 for asmfish170810
I am now running a same match wit the ultimaq compile
games will follow later

Second match with Stockfish 170811 ultimaq compile has ended +22 -18 =60 for Stockfish
First match 61% draws second match 60% two rather close matches with many discutable games
I gave a short win for Komodo with black, where Stockfish takes a forbidden rook with 11 Nc7+ and is soon lost. Nice game

I played another match this time on the AMD Ryzen 1800, 14threads same TC 3m 2s (where games reach two ply deeper on average than on the I5 4200 2t)
Draw percentage now 71% and a +20 -9 =71 win for Stockfish170811ultimaq compile
Games link https://we.tl/940qu1UJos

Code: Select all

SF170811uq-K11.2.2, Blitz 3m+2s
1 Stockfish 110817 64 POPCNT +38 +20/=71/-9 55.50% 55.5/100
2 Komodo 11.2.2 64-bit -38 +9/=71/-20 44.50% 44.5/100
In game 11 and 13 Stockfish looses quickly after the wrong materialistic Nxc7 followed by Nxa8 in these position after 11 moves. Komodo does better and avoids and plays Nf6+ and Kc3 which leaves white about equal

Thanks again, Bram!

Lots of interesting - and sometimes even crazy - games. But a 71% draw rate in the King's gambit..... That is really a big surprise!
