If you are on a sidewalk and the covid goes beep beep
Just step aside or you might have a bit of heat
Covid covid runs through the town all day
Can the people ever change their ways
Sherwin the covid's after you
Sherwin if it catches you you're through
Just step aside or you might have a bit of heat

Sherwin the covid's after you

Re: Back from the edge of death, again!
Hi Graham, Just an update.
RomiChessP3L vs engine in CCRL 40/4
Yace 0.99.87 37.5 %
Horizon 4.4 51.6%
Olithink 5.3.2 64 54.8%
RomiChessP3m beta vs (total of 300 games)
Yace 40%
Horizon 57%
Olithink 62%
So better against all engines in the test!
This time I made a second backup in the 'gold' directory that I made read only!
I could release it now if you think the increase in results warrant it or I can take some more time and try to tune the changes a bit better. Your call this time?

I never like to place pressure on engine authors.
You should release it when you're happy to do so.
Cheers,
Graham.

Okay my decision! Would CCRL be happy testing that amount of gain? Or is it a totally dispassionate reality? I'm trying to gauge when to release. Thanks!Graham Banks wrote:Hi Mike,Michael Sherwin wrote:Hi Graham, Just an update.

I just turned 60 myself. I home to have a magical rejuvenation too. What's your secret?
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Four cans of red pickled beets a week! Yuck!! Maybe fresh beets would be better. Beets rejuvenate the liver. If the liver is better the whole body is better.

I think Graham and a couple other testers might like me a little bit!SzG wrote:Michael,Michael Sherwin wrote: Okay my decision! Would CCRL be happy testing that amount of gain? Or is it a totally dispassionate reality? I'm trying to gauge when to release. Thanks!
Happiness in testing is often proportional to enthusiasm of author. What do you think is the case with you?

Source control is your friend. For years I did not use it but now use Git and it has helped a lot. It is easy to go forward and back in the change history, and if you are working on something you are not sure will pan out you can do it in a feature branch and it does not disturb the more stable main branch you started from.
