Catching up and being few elo above Stockfish DEV is a first since many years.
Don't worry Lyudmil, if Stockfish doesn't get his speed elo back, you will see an engine being +50 elo above Stockfish in a year.

But of course, you are a little like me, wanting more for Houdini. Keep sendind spiritual energy to the autor of the program you like and you will see that happen. Maybe Andscac will or Shredder.

True.
Interesting idea from Lyudmil though, that the failed patches on the Stockfish Framework may work on Houdini/Komodo.
After all, what is important is the IDEA, not the implementation.
It could explain the drastic improvement in Houdini.

No such luck.
Mr Houdart believes in the Annual Update Model :)

In this case, Houdard should have better offered the new Houdini already yesterday, because tomorrow the new Komodo will be released, catching up the 30 points.

Yeah sure, and how you would know that ?

At the moment Houdini comes out once per year and it seems to take Komodo about 6 months to catch up / overtake.

So it seems Houdini development is about 6 months ahead, and I don't think this will change soon.

The advantage of the Komodo model is that for 6 months of the year they do have a stronger engine that is actually released (though presumably the private Houdini is still ahead by 6 months).

Here is one game, I will post the same game with reverted colors when finished.

1 Core, 4.4GHz i2500K, LOOONG time control with PONDER ON (of course), no book, 4pc Syzygy. I stopped the game when it was really finished.

18.h4 is nice.
