recently I have got a message from ChessBase support (Steffen Giehring) in Hamburg:

Here is the translation of the German text:

Indeed, a new Fritz 16 engine will be released by the end of the year, but details cannot yet be published.

We will probably offer Houdini 6 in November, too.

P.S.: My request concerning Fritz 15.1 remains unacknowledged, no statement was given about an update/upgrade of current Fritz program.

As far I know, such a case appeared with Fritz 5 (16-32 bit) in the year 1998.

means: New Fritz 16 Engine is developed by Vas Rajlich ("Rybka") again (like Fritz 15).
