A friend got the note 8 a snapdragon 835. Sf nearly hit 4,000 but then slowed down a bit. I got 3,674 after roughly 2 minutes.

Do you know any reason for why it slowed down ? Power-saving mode or something maybe ?

Just tested on my iPhone 8 and hited 4523 kn/s

Hited?! I assume you mean it peaked at 4523. What happens after the 2 minute mark?

No, I re did the test this time closing everything that was opened....

it hit over 6'000 kn/s but after about 30sec dropped to around 5'000 kn/s.
After 1 minute, it was @ 4'742 kn/s.

The A11 chips seems amazingly powerful !

Smartphones are not meant for chess. Phones in many cases have awful cooling. Just use a desktop.

Lol using an iPhone 8 for chess - even just benchmarking it - is like putting a horse and wagon on a highway.

The Benchmark especially demands 2' computation time to handle heating issued.
What seems like a fairy tale today may be reality tomorrow.

It's quite the opposite. A desktop that can do 4000 kn/s requires like 20x more Wattage than an iPhone8.
