A group of angry Rodents

I think for some people here, it's well known that I'm a huge fan of Pawel's Rodent engine - so here I am to share some lovely games by the GM personalities I've created.

Pawel, I promise I'll email you tonight with all the settings.

Now that Rodent is 2900+ we have plenty of Elo points to spare in the search for style. Thanks Pawel, the new version of Rodent should have all of these personalities as standard (as well the the GMs repertoire books).

This looks great, I especially like that king march in Rodent Tal - Glaurung game and comfortable win exchange down as Shirov :) I will upload these personalities to Rodent's web page as soon as I get them. They alone would be enough for the official release of the new version, but I still have some tests to run and some documentation to update. In short, expect a new Rodent package before Christmas.

Great news Pawel,

In case you missed this in the Senpai thread:

Wow, what a game, good to the last drop! :D I did a double take at the end -White couldn't just play QxRf8, because Qd8 wins for Black, so Bc6 was a fantastic intermezzo, ending the game. Loved that white King on g5. :)

Thanks a lot Brendan! Your work these engines is totally amazing. 8-)

Cheers,

I had to do a double take to see Qxf8 Qd8+ too. Then when I fully understood the "point" of Bc6 I couldn't stop smiling for some time.

Checking these games when I wake up, feels like Christmas morning for me, such beauty cannot be replaced by Elo alone (IMO).

I am motivated to get back into tournament chess, just to prepare and analyze with these personalities!

BTW, all of this is Pawel's hundreds of hours of work, it takes me no time to create the personalities, given the dozens of useful options he gives us (and my study of the World Champions over the last 18 years).

BTW... Petrosian personality complete, sending all to Pawel today and they'll be in the December release of a new Rodent. 8-)

BTW....look at the Petrosian-like way he sucks life from the position, until the only thing obvious is blacks pawn weaknesses.

He still has weaknesses (i.e positional prejudices that aren't 100% correct in the face of "master" Stockfish), but this is the point - that's what being human-like is all about.

Now that Rodent is 2900+ we have plenty of Elo points to spare in the search for style. Thanks Pawel, the new version of Rodent should have all of these personalities as standard (as well the the GMs repertoire books).
