In the first game K was very close to winning. In the second game K simplified into NNPP which turns out to be ample compensation. Game was adjourned because of fortress position.

lkaufman wrote:This (fourth position, all pieces on home squares) was the most interesting to me, because Komodo is just down about a pawn by any normal material count for no visible compensation (much more according to Houdini), yet wins convincingly. But in general it seems from your games that the queen is overvalued by all engines, even Komodo. Did you happen to run the same positions with Houdini on the side without the queen? Maybe we can learn something here, but I'm not yet sure just exactly what.
Houdini gives away the bishop-pair advantage too early. After some trades, all pieces is stationed on the kingside which increase H overall scopes for draw but it's not enough and loses.

But in general it seems from your games that the queen is overvalued by all engines, even Komodo. Did you happen to run the same positions with Houdini on the side without the queen? Maybe we can learn something here, but I'm not yet sure just exactly what.
Is that invisible pawns that Viktor Korchnoi once talked about in a game against a clubmember of mine. If one side is a pawn up I would say Komodo because Rook and Knight is slightly more than a pair of Bishops but not enough to win. But what do I know. At move 31 the game was even but then Houdini gave it away. But that is not really helpful for you for considering the imbalance.

Sorry, Houdini was Black and Komodo White. So the imbalance indeed favored H. and in that case indeed not a strong performance from Houdini.

Great game by Komodo here. Thanks for showing it to us Jon. Sorry, I have to say, even with the imbalance, Houdini's evals are a bit suspiciously familiar. Just my personal opinion. But so are Kaissa's evals.

But incredible how this position is already, completely, utterly lost!
