I think the sac is unsound, although it puts White in a position that is practically hard for humans to defend. At move 13:

[D] r2qk2r/pp2bppp/2n5/3p4/3p2b1/1N1B1N2/PPP2P2/R1BQR1K1 w kq - 0 13

Stockfish gives both Bg5 and Be2 scores over +2.

Even after 13. Kg2, I think White could have defended, but 14. Bd2 did not help (better was 14. Qd2).

I am pretty sure you are correct, however for a blitz game versus a human, psychologically it was a pretty smart try.

It would be a bit strange if this was winning (for Black) by force, although you never know if the opponent does not understand the compensation and SF is playing the real alpha zero perhaps alpha zero would win by force :) I would not call the move "unsound" that would for me imply not playable. But I think Jon did not mean that also. The +2 scores by Stockfish are I think a bit over the top i.e. not winning.

After 13. Bg5 f6 14. Bf4 Kaissa says:

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.
