Re: New Tool for Tuning with Skopt

Thanks jorose,

Currently I am running 5000 games with nodes=800 to tune 4 parameters at once. I will report the status here once it is done.

Re: New Tool for Tuning with Skopt

thomasahle, Very nice tool! Thx a lot for sharing it. jorose, Just wanted to mention I was successfully able to retune Winter's futility and static null move pruning margins with this tool. I measured a self play rating gain of +9 +- 3 Elo roughly. How many games did you have to run during tunning t...

Re: Poor performance of Stockfish 10 against Igel 1.8.3 at (shallow) fixed depth=10

Thanks to all of you for your comments. Yes, indeed, taking into account the fact that Igel does not prune much, testing it with fixed depth against SF makes no sense after your explanations :) The original issue came after I was analyzing some games between Igel and Cheng when Igel just could not s...

Re: Francesca 0.25 Released

The position does not look like a draw: https://lichess.org/Wb0ZA8C3#197

According to tablebases on lichess (if you click on a book icon) it seems like black (Francheska) is wining. Is it a bug of cutechess-cli?

Poor performance of Stockfish 10 against Igel 1.8.3 at (shallow) fixed depth=10

Hello everyone, I am trying to hunt down some issues in Igel ( CCRL 40/40 ~2800 elo ) when running games at a very quick time control, and one of my ideas was to measure the "time to depth" in Igel as well as see if I should improve evaluation or search. So I decided to run a few games between Stock...
