Re: Banksia GUI released

I have tried the book making functions of BanksiaGui-0.18 and I have some questions. https://i.ibb.co/Yh19Nwq/screenshot-Database-Builder.png When converting a pgn database to Banksia format, there is a dropdown list where I can choose: Create New Database, Tree, and Merge What does the Tree and Mer...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Hi, Mr Nguyen Hong Pham I have some requests to implement in future versions of Banksia. Chess Position Trainer has some unique way to navigate tro a repertoire. It is possible to jump to positions where there is more than one candidate move for the side of the repertoire. (> candidate). It is a uni...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Thanks a lot. I got it. The bug is fixed for the next release (it turns out the regular expression which I have used for my PGN parser will ignore the games with empty tags, such as [Annotator ""]). Thanks I'm looking forwards to the next release of Banksia. Is it already possible to use the book m...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Look like games in your PGN file are in different chess variants and/or seriously wrong format since BSG can tolerate with some wrong on PGN files. You may check by following steps: - Open your PGN file by any text editor - Copy randomly a game then paste into BSG If BSG says it can't open, check w...

Re: Banksia GUI released

The time for creating a PGN opening book depends on computers, the stronger one will be faster. On my 2-year-old computer (3.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7), it took about 5 minutes to convert a game database of 1.7 million games (human GMs) into a PGN opening book. It means 800 K games will take ro...

Re: Banksia GUI released

I created a pgn book from my internet games where I play white. I first converted the pgn file to banksi format to be able to make a pgn book from it. If I go to tools and select this pgn book banksia crashes. Than each time I launch Banksia and go to tools > opening, Banksia crashes. I had to go to...

Re: Engine programming

Hi, I was reading about your wish to learn to program to make a chess engine. Why do you want to create a chess engine? It seams to me that many programmers are focused on chess engine programming? I think what the chess world needs is better software to make humans better chess players. Like Chess ...

Re: Regium Chess — Most likely an elaborate SCAM!!

It's always a good idea to be cautious, but I can not believe it's a scam. Especially after watching this video.

Re: Should FIDE Create a No Castling Championship ?

I wonder if new tools for opening preparation could not help to lower the draw rates in classical chess? Like the true percentile output in Fat Fritz that displays the expected wins, draws and losses, for a variation. Also better opening training software, like the (hopefully) upcoming Chess Positio...

Re: Popular opening books

It seems Chessgui has the tool. Image Try to find a big pgn file as your Pgn Input File. Every pos in epd file will be searched in the input pgn file. If it is there it will save the moves in sequence in pgn format. If not found it will still save in pgn format but using the FEN Tag as was used in ...
