Re: WCCC vs TCEC Chess Engine Competitions..

My fervent hope is that the whole slimy ship should sink quietly into the TCEC is only a little slimy, and it’s more of a dingy than a ship with its own issues of following its own rules. :-) TCEC, unfortunately, has all the excitement of a file copy in a server room. WCCC has excitement precisely ...

Re: LC0 For Android!!! History Made!!

Weak? I suppose against stockfish. But pick up the 48x5 network and even a GM won’t beat it on an android device. https://github.com/dkappe/leela-chess-w ... d-Networks

1. From 3 to 42372 you have 42369 other networks, due to this fact 42372 is at the moment obviously stronger than 3.
You do understand that these network id’s are unique identifiers in the lczero database? So, given that t40 started at 40000, I’ll leave it to the reader to correct the arithmetic.

Re: LC0 for iPad?

I don't understand this thread... What's the use of porting Lc0 if you don't have a GPU ??? I agree, unless you have a powerful GPU. Lc0 is almost useless. First, you can run one of the smaller nets using blas. Second, Apple has nn capable hardware in its phones/iPads. https://www.apple.com/in/ipho...

Re: LC0 for iPad?

Just as with GNU Go, any spoilsport, not just the authors, can contact Apple and get stockfish yanked from the App Store. That's wrong. Technically, Apple is violating the copyright, but only the copyright holders have the right to take measures against that, not anyone else. Since the Stockfish au...

Re: LC0 for iPad?

How do you explain the existence of the GPL’d stockfish in the App Store? By the agreement of all Stockfish authors to tolerate the GPL violation that the additional store limitations cause. Effectively, the Stockfish team is dual licencing Stockfish. They have that right, but in order to do that, ...

Re: LC0 for iPad?

One of the problems with iOS is that installation can be from Apple's app store only. Developer membership costs 99 EUR per year, and more importantly, Apple made its store incompatible with any GPL version. LC0 happens to be under GPL 3, so that wouldn't work unless all LC0 authors would agree to ...

Re: Question on current LC0 development

Also, if you are running on blas on old hardware, you may want to check out the distilled nets.

Re: 2019 KO Engines Champs "The Great 128"

Of course if you’re running on cpu instead of gpu, all bets are off.
