Re: Depth anomaly in Asymptote

Hi Guenther, thanks for testing Asymptote. As weird as this bug may sound, I can reproduce it using v0.6.2. But I cannot reproduce it using the current master. But I think I know what happens here, I'll give a more detailed explanation in the evening (basically Asymptote stops searching and just inc...

Re: Attack

It takes the current development version of Asymptote until depth 14 to see Bxg3 as best with a score of 135 centipawns. Score rises to 456 centipawns at depth 18, which was when I stopped. What do you consider in your king safety evaluation? setoption name hash value 64 position fen 1br1r1k1/1p1b1p...

Re: The Curved Web 4CPU

Very nice game, indeed. I should save it, I guess :D.

Asymptote 0.6 seems to do multithreading much better than 0.5. No threading related changes in 0.6, I guess the bug fixes (most probably hashing) caused that.

Really looking forward to the rest of the tournament! :)

Re: Swiss Tournament Ed.VIII. Group C.

If you didn't start yet and feel like it, update Asymptote to v0.6. :)
You can find the binaries as https://github.com/malu/asymptote/releases/tag/v0.6.

Re: Any testing framwork similair to Fishtest that can be run locally ?

I can definetly recommend OpenBench. Once you've got it set up, it runs quite smooth.

I only remember one problem with it and that was my own fault, I'm pretty sure.

Asymptote 0.5 (with SMP)

I just released Asymptote 0.5. This release was quite some work. It includes support of searching on multiple threads. Also, the evaluation was been completely retuned (using Texel tuning). Besides these changes, there were also some speedups, code cleanups and bugfixes. My thanks goes to everyone t...

Thanks for testing, Graham.

The gain wasn't quite as big as expected, but I won't complain about ~80 elo points. :D

Re: CEO. Edition II.

Please give Asymptote a chance to qualify for one of Germany's teams. :) Although its competition is quite strong, looking at the last tournament...
