You could try the latest version of Stockfish abrok.eu/stockfish

If I rember correctly, Stockfish 10 has a bug which can lead to occasional crashes, but it should be fixed in the version above.

Is the latest version of Stockfish reliable and the same programmer M.Costalba?

Re: Problem report Chessbase with SF

Does your CPU support BMI2 instructions ? Try the "modern" exe which has lower requirements, or indeed the standard one. I tried with Stockfish 10 (64). Yesterday there was no problem but today again that message. I also noticed that the startup of Chessbase and the engine startup are all slower th...

Problem report Chessbase with SF

Hello chessfriends, I'm having trouble with Stockfish on Chessbase. I run Stockfish BMI2 on Chessbase 15. I always get a message from: ''Stockfish 10 BMI2 caused an exception. This is a problem in the engine" I tried the following: Move Stockfish 10 BMI2 to '' inactive '' and added a new engine but ...

Re: Networks Lc0

If you are on a slow gpu or cpu (blas), try one of the distilled nets: https://github.com/dkappe/leela-chess-weights/wiki/Distilled-Networks The 48x5 even gives reasonable performance and playing strength on a raspberry pi 3. If you’re looking to play correspondence, blas is probably not the way, b...

With Blas version, calculations are very slow, not normal.
When you use blas what network id did you use?
Network ID is 42125. I cannot apply the CUDA version, I received an error message and met Blas. My laptop has no Graphics NVIDIA.

Re: Networks Lc0

I don't know if I can share a link here. On the site are a lot of network of Lc0. It is unclear to me what to look for and which network to use? Can anyone explain that? I can not find anywhere if this topic already exists. One way of finding some strong networks is to check Lc0 rating list. There ...

Re: Pause calculation / analysis engines

Is this during analysis? Yes. I think I abused the pause button during analysis for move exclusion. Therefore, pause cannot be used during analysis. That is disappointing. Analysis is the main use that Rapakei the creator of this post was looking for. I cannot see any other use for pause. W...

Re: Pause calculation / analysis engines

Most engines do not offer a pause functionality. The UCI protocol does not have or allow it, and although WB protocol defines 'pause' and 'resume' commands, hardly any WB engine supports those. What I usually do when I want to suspend a multi-day analysis in progress because I want to use the compu...
