Re: Fat Fritz 2

Hi, thanks: Whats the difference between FatFritz2.exe and FatFritz2mycompile.exe. Whats the version of the included FatFritz2_v1.bin? Is it official or the one from github that some say is older version? thanks The FatFritz2mycompile was compiled one day earlier, but it's src code of Github/Daniel...

Re: Fat Fritz 2

I cloned the code base when this was post and able to compiled under Linux. Actually now I think about it you have a point. Because even if you can compile it, its useless unless you have the weights file In the meantime, the github link of DanielUranga includes also the weights file. Although I do...

Re: Will black mate here ?

What your engine thinks of this position ? [d] 5k1K/p1p5/7P/7P/3P4/2P5/PP6/4n3 w - - 0 1 For engine Crystal this position (in which White has to move) is a draw. But if Black has to move, what makes sense in the given question, then yes, for Crystal it looks like a mate in 30 It starts by hunting W...

Re: Games with Sergio's 256x20-T40-1400 net

I run matches between Sergio 256x20-T40-1400 and 42872, T40B.4-160 nets as well as Stockfish 191002. Hardware were as earlier: PC - Threadripper 2950x 16 x 4 GHz fixed no turbo - no HT, RAM 16 GB, page file on 256 GB SSD, 6 men syzygy and 5 men Nalimov for DeepFritz 14 GUI only. GPU - 2 x RTX 2060 ...

Re: Real Ancient Chess from Bharat

@satyendrainbhopal: If you have a historical variant in mind, can it be that it is known under the names of Chaturanga (2 players) or Chaturaj (4 players)? As about Chaturanga, there exists 3 different rule-sets by Murray, Davidson and Gollon, presented at this site: https://www.chessvariants.com/hi...

MuZero, first impression how to code it

MuZero is the legacy of AlphaZero and learns to play games (and other decision scenarios) without knowing the rules of the game. Until now, it was only known that it needs 3 NNs instead of one, as it was in AlphaZero. Now this site gives new and very impressive information with pseudocode and a lot ...

Re: AlphaZero No Castling Chess

I got it working, but I think something is wrong. I see it repeating multiple times and only eventually varying, isn't it supposed to refuse to repeat even once? Yes, it is supposed to decide the player with the first repetition as defeated. With the Winboard GUI I could reproduce the behavior you ...

Re: AlphaZero No Castling Chess

Wait a minute, no draws? I thought this version eliminated draws by stalemate, bare king, and rep, but not fifty move rule. Surely there should be some fifty move rule draws in forty games? Unless the engine was just forfeiting players for repeating, rather than forcing them to play moves that did ...

Re: AlphaZero No Castling Chess

Thanks, seems to work now. Will check for some properties, interesting. Does the engine know something how to play it, or it plays as usual, only discovering that it lost/won at the last move? I have no time looking at PGNs and games. I mean, the eval has to be changed due to such adjudication rule...
