Re: Serious cloning issue at TCEC
No Andrew, I can see your confusion. It's an easy mistake to make. One of the versions is version 'A' and the other is version 'B'.

Re: Halogen 9 64-bit Gauntlet for CCRL 40/15
I'm really happy with these results. Halogen winning head to head with some big names in that list. RubiChess and RofChade really humbled me though
. Will be good to see the progression when Halogen 10 comes out, which is already 60-70 points stronger than Halogen 9.

Thanks for the tournament! It came right in time for testing some new to come tools. Here Minic stranglely could not win from this position and also converted both pawns in the most difficult winning endgame. Lucky Halogen didn't waste any time anymore since being lost and played all moves since mo...

Wow what a close finish, only half a point separating the top 6 engines!

Re: NN faster and energy efficient training.
Hi! Hi, Halogen author here. 768x32x1 was the shape of the first network that was able to completely replace my old HCE. How strong was this network? How many examples did you used for learning? Gaining +60 elo already with a hybrid approach is very impressive for so few training positions. Thanks ...

Re: New engine releases 2020
I’ve noticed that non static compiles are much smaller, on my computer they are around 1MB. I’m not sure how the compiler does this but it might be doing some magic optimising the code that reads in the network into the float arrays. Considering that stuff can be determined at compile time it’s not ...

Re: New engine releases 2020
Hi Gabor, yes this was my mistake :( I updated the exe's but I don't think I can retroactively change the source to display 'Halogen 9' on startup. I hope this doesn't bother people too much. The warnings are expected and shouldn't be any issues. Yes the NN is included in the exe. I'm not sure how y...
