Re: TCEC Question

Also possible SF improved so much, that Leela's eval only appears to be conservative. In other words, SF sees the clear win for Leela before she does.

Re: TCEC Question

Could be that Leela's MLH doesn't fare well at TCEC time control. It may not interact well with the WDL head and the high draw score. Definitely noticeable compared to last SuFi, Leela's eval score is low even when she's in a winning position.

Re: Stockfish NN release (NNUE)

There's a guy on Leela Discord who generated 1 million Stockfish v Leela games for NN training. So these too could be used for NNUE and maybe produce a better result than using SF games or leela games alone.

Re: 1.g4 opening is losing?

You still think it's drawn zullil? What do you think someone could do to find a single drawing line for white? (to at least put the ball on the other camp, people having to find a black win against that line) Yes, I still believe 1. g4 is a theoretical draw. This is simply a stubbornly held persona...

Re: mmt Vs. Ovyron (G4 D5 BG2)

I don't doubt Rxe2+ is the best here, but 45...Qe6 has been the plan all along, and it just made it to the -4.10s (Rxe2 still below -4.00s). Perhaps Rxe2 gets faster to a 7men TB position, but that's outside my horizon, so 45...Qe6 would be the "most efficient win" (to minimize the time I take per ...

Re: mmt Vs. Ovyron (G4 D5 BG2)

Stockfish 13 as in 100 elo better than current SF may never happen. Because SF will typically underprune in some areas, overprune in others where for instance it can advantage a position in one area of a game but adversely affect it in a similar area. Enter patches that also appear to conflict, judg...

Re: mmt Vs. Ovyron (G4 D5 BG2)

Good hardware would make the timescale minimal. I still think best optimal moves for white could hold a draw. But further inspection would reveal that black missed a winning line on that draw, so what would be the point? By minimal timescale I meant as long as necessary but as short as possible. So...

Re: mmt Vs. Ovyron (G4 D5 BG2)

Those were self-play games that I produced for my game against Harvey, where Stockfish couldn't beat itself. But as it turns out for every single one of them there was a winning move for black, and I'm sure better hardware or higher depth would have found the winning moves. So it's the other way ar...

We know that Stockfish self-play after g4 results in a draw given sufficient nodes.
We do? Link to some games?
Ovyron said so earlier in thread. Unless he was being OxyMoronic. Ya know with his hardware we would have to question the nodes :P

Re: mmt Vs. Ovyron (G4 D5 BG2)

His strategy is to play for simply positions with as few lines of “reasonable" play as possible. This way his hardware is less of an obstacle. An example is the 1.g4 lines of play. His opponents, if they know his weakness, should play for the most complicated lines of play possible. EVEN if it mean...
