Re: An actual interesting computer chess read about FF2
Ever since NNUE was implemented contempt makes little difference for SF. Contempt-less NNUE can be an impediment against winning more with Black vs weaker engines, so it fails to maximize Elo potential. But even if SF's contempt was fully functional, as it used to be before NNUE, it would be correc...

Re: my idea for handicap games for fide rating
Do you think fide is going to accept this idea or maybe it is a question of money and in order to accept this idea we need to pay more money for fide for it? Are there people who are interested in donating money for it to happen? No...and no (me anyway). I do not see any point in it. I mean...am I ...

Re: Stockfish 13 Under Chessbase 16 Question
Right click the engine pane and deselect "Display Win Probability". You may have to remove the engine and restart, but that will give you the display you are used to. I think you would read this current position display as 15% chance of a win, 78% chance of a draw and 6% chance of a loss. Well...I ...

Stockfish 13 Under Chessbase 16 Question
I am afraid I do not know how to share a screenshot, but I notice Stockfish 13 with it's new evaluation while analyzing a position. I set it to analyze a position and the output looks a bit like this: +/= 55% at the top then it gives the line being analyzed and at the bottom says: White is slightly ...

Re: We are the Computer Chess Community. We control ourselves.
Its time that people stand up and become the change that this community so badly needs, and that so many of us would like to see. That means not using ChessBase products. I stopped using ChessBase software years ago when it became apparent they'd never fix the flicker problem that afflicts their GU...

Re: We are the Computer Chess Community. We control ourselves.
The facts remain. Why should an idiot pay 99 euro for something he can dowload in the internet for free without chessbase logo ?! Because albert silver or frederic friedel said in a marketing campaign that fat fritz II “will change your life” ?? The uneducated mass maybe buys it. It's NOT just the ...

Re: Are neural nets (the weights file) copyrightable?
Animated movies nowadays are output of a computer program. That doesn't mean they are free of copyrights... But those are the works of human authors and creative works. They're also not derivative works of GPL'd software. But suit yourself to a double standard. Yes, people are groping for things to...
