Re: what is the best engine for big material handicap?

I analyzed this one before. Re: benchmark new smartphones:

Do we have some data for the newly released iPhone Pro 11 ? Rgds I actually did 2 benchmarks on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I did not post them because my understanding is that for them to be official you have to post a screen shot. The url I used for that purpose closed and I did not feel like opening a...

Re: Test Position: Nikolic Fischer revisited 19...Bg4!!

This thread started in 2014. I'm sure the newer hardware helps, but it's really impressive what the Stockfish programmers have accomplished in 5 years to improve their program. Indeed, I can confirm that Stockfish does find Fischer's 19...Bg4!! after slightly less than an hour on my 20 core dual xeo...

Re: SF10 excels in Arasan suite: 189/200

I abort after 5 consecutive plies (default in Fritz GUI). I have no 10 hours to run suite. Thanks for your response. I totally agree with you. I just wasn't sure if there was some generally accepted standard to use when analyzing epd files. P.S. I also have Fritz GUI but was too stupid to figure ou...

Re: SF10 excels in Arasan suite: 189/200

Jouni, I would like to try to reproduce your result, but I do not have a lot of experience with using epd files. I think I have figured out how to process epd files with Arena but I have one question. Do you force your gui to use all 3 minutes for each test position or do you let it abort the search...

Re: Houdini Scaling on CEGT Rating List

I have looked at the CCRL 40/40 rating list. As near as I can tell, all Houdini testing was done with 4 CPUs, so this list does not have comparative data about how well Houdini scales with additional CPUs. http://www.computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/4040/cgi/compare_engines.cgi?class=Single-CPU+engines&pr...

Re: Houdini Scaling on CEGT Rating List

I was looking at the CEGT 40/20 rating list and was surprised to see that Houdini 6 doesn't seem to scale well with extra CPU's on that list: Houdini 6.0 x64 8 CPU rating 3442 Houdini 6.0 x64 4 CPU rating 3437 A 5 pt. increase.
