Re: Leo Dijksman (WBEC) deceased

since the late nineties Leo's site has been one of the first and best i looked for when bringing a new computer on line. his site along with talkchess and winboard forum are the top three when it comes to computer chess bar none.

But I am glad to be back. The time was right. I figure it is best to go quietly when you go, and come back quietly when you return.

When you make big announcements about falling on your sword, it always seems funny when you reappear.
hi Dan,
glad your back.

Re: Chess Computer Question

you have 2 more cores at said nodes per second.with more than one core the node count appears lower as pruning and other algorithms tend to trim it earlier. i think do the nature of multi core systems an accurate node count is not possible as it is averaged across how many cores in use.

Re: 50th move Bluff by Stockfish 5?

it probably picked any legal move that didn't involve a capture randomly and claimed a draw. i would assume most engines with a draw feature would still pick the best move. it wouldn't be necessary though.
