Re: Carlsen will show the World again who is the best Rapid player

It bothers Carlsen so much to have to retain his World Chess Championship the way he did, where he prove to the World that he is better than GM Caruana at Rapid, that now he will participate in the World Rapid Chess Championship like telling the World if anybody still think that they can beat me in...

Re: Bobby Was not crazy but a pure genius.............

I used to hear some of them, and i just thought they were a bit funny, of an embittered old man speaking a load of nonsense. I never thought it was anything serious or in any way rational. Just a random jumble of hogwash.

Re: What are the chances of GM Caruana ?

Everybody knows that GM Carlsen is the best Rapid and Blitz player in the world, if NOT the second best. If GM Caruana is not able to get ahead in the classical you might as well say that Caruana chances are very limited. For the Moment lets enjoy one of the best game of the match so far: https://w...

Re: Bobby Was not crazy but a pure genius.............

I think he was mentally ill. Can someone have so much wisdom in something like chess and still be mentally ill? Why? Is chess like a kind of dream life? Or what we talking about? Psycopath? Sociopath? Schitzoid? Narcissist? I remember once seeing in a videoclip of him grabbing his mother by the col...

2006 Rebel - win over world champion (Kramnik) in a 6 game match using Intel Pentium PC
I may have wished so, but it was Fritz.
At that time, genius was stronger than fritz but got less attention.

Re: Komodo MCTS and Komodo (Standard?) in CCCC current Blitz battle

Once we figure out how to resolve this dilemma, we should be able to release Komodo 12.2, which will be a vast improvement on MCTS and a decent one for regular Komodo on big hardware but probably not much for regular Komodo on inexpensive hardware. So on CCC or TCEC hardware both Komodo versions sh...

Re: Komodo MCTS and Komodo (Standard?) in CCCC current Blitz battle

Komodo (regular, not MCTS) has had a problem for many years now when running on many cores with large hash tables, as in TCEC. It takes several minutes to reach full speed. In three or four hour games this is not a big deal, but in a blitz event it is absolutely fatal, as you can see. I'm glad to r...

Re: What was the top Chess engine before it was Stockfish, Komodo or Houdini?

Just curious if anyone happens to know.. Before the scandalous ones it was rybka. Nothing could approoach the versions. Before that were fruit derivatives, before that was shredder, before that, hiarcs had a long rule. Chessmaster 6 had a short reign, but genius 3 had a very long reign. It was the ...

What got you into computer chess? Battle Chess, a love of programming, and no chess set.
In addition to my deeper answer, ok yes. It was chess by psion by richard lang which my brother had on his computer, which first impressed ME.
