Re: Is Deep Blue source code open?

While we are comparing IBM's deep blue hardware to today's hardware and deep blue chess performance to today's computer chess performance. It's also interesting to compare IBM 1997 to IBM 2017. In 1997, IBM earned 78.5 billion. In 2017, IBM earned 79.1 billion. In 20 years an increase of 0.8%. Not ...

Re: Human Shogi players still stronger than computer........

After 15 years since Deeper Blue beat Kasparov in 1997, in Japan Shogi programers are trying hard to beat Shogi professionals, and they are getting closer but it will be a few years until a computer can beat the best Shogi player and World Champion. First, Shogi does not belong in the chess forum. ...

Re: Magnus Carlsen checkmates Bill Gates in 9 moves!

Re: Magnus Carlsen checkmates Bill Gates in 9 moves!

Gates played to Carlsen's strength. To be fair they should have also played to Gates's strength. Gates knows PCs. Gates should have used a PC with Houdini. Who wins now? If you give both sides 30 seconds for all the game in OTB game then Carlsen is going to win again because Gates is going to lose ...

Re: Houdini can beat Carlsen even if he takes any 3 moves ba

Now look at my initial thread, I said that Carlsen could take back any three moves during the games, just in case that he blunder  Which move would Carlsen take back? To Carlsen these are not blunders. All carlsen's sees is that he is losing after 30 moves. Carlsen will wonder where I went wro...

Re: Houdini can beat Carlsen even if he takes any 3 moves ba

Houdini will never have a blunder big enough for Carlsen to capitalize. But Houdini will capitalize on every one of Carlsen's blunders. Just look at the championship just finished today. Carlsen blundered away a win. Carlsen cannot accurately look ahead 30 moved. The computer sees beyond the Carlsen...
