I don't understand the version numbering.. shouldn't this be 2019 after we had several 2018.X versions?
Maybe you understand it when you are looking at the date of the announcement :D

Thanks Vladimir, GreKo is still one of my favorites!

first: will leela run on 1 mhz machine ?
second: does it fit into 32 KB and can it run with only 8 KB RAM ?
You asked for intelligent software. You can't expect anyone to develop new and more intelligent software for your 1MHz machine

Re: " End of an Era" is coming?

Try Leela with 1 visit, then you play only against its neural net. It will easily beat all the dedicated units of the past.

Re: " End of an Era" is coming?

Way more then what most people have. Agreed but if LCZ is going to be crowned the best chess engine than it has to beat SF on 44 cores in my opinion. Just a question of time. And soon there will be a lot of new engines using the neural nets without Leelas Zero approach. Maybe Stockfish will come ba...

Re: Chess for Android and Electronic ChessBoards

You believe it will qualify chess ? We will see. I made the experience that I get dozens of responses when posting a result with a list of elos, while I get no responses when posting a chess game . It seems people discuss more about the lists and elos and hardware increases instead of discussing th...

Re: Chess for Android and Electronic ChessBoards

I hoped the neural nets would make a new approach but it perverted again into the faster faster higher higher approach. So the same bullshit like Stockfish. People are only interested in faster hardware and not in better chess. Crazy Stone, the Go program of Rémi Coulom, simulates go players of all...

Re: AI offer/agree to a draw like a human?

Hmmm, on second thought, maybe Leela does incorporate that (MC?). I'm not sure now. Maybe someone here would care to look at the paper again :P The output of Leela Zero for Go looks like this: NN eval=0.440025 Playouts: 4602, Win: 47.12%, PV: D4 Q4 Q16 D16 R3 R4 Q3 P3 P2 O3 O2 N3 N2 M3 C17 D17 C16 ...

I am fairly sure that when he wrote score he meant win probability.
There is no such thing in a chess engine.
That's not true

Leela works with probabilities, not scores.

Re: Alphazero news

Maybe people will go to jail because an AI thinks he will someday do a crime. One day autonomous robots will decide which person to kill, on a battlefield or to prevent a possible crime. Maybe one day an AI will press the red button. We have the so-called " Ethics of artificial intelligence " to pr...

Re: Alphazero news

OK what we know : 1) Stockfish is the best engine in the world 2) LC0 guys did manage to reverse engineer A0 successfully 3) LC0 and A0 roughly at the same strength 4) NN are not less resource hungry than Alpha Beta 5) Scalability is about the same in both methods 6) Google has unacceptable behavio...
