Re: Luke skywalker has done it again.

There are 2 things about this article that make it lame. First, it was posted on April 2nd. Second, Chessbase uses Fischer's name in almost every April fools article.

Still, will be fun to read the readers' feedback ;)

Re: Fritz 13: “Let’s Check”

You laugh, but that only means you don't get it. We all know there is a finite but gigantic number of possible chess positions. This project does not mean to analyze every possible position: it cannot. It intends to analyze positions that have actually happened, and beyond that, positions that peop...

Looking for databases

Does anyone know free (preferably-good quality) chess databases? I want to import them into scid. Any large and good opening book suggestions? (For studying random shenanigan openings after losing 15th blitz game on exact same stupid sideline ). Thanks!

RR is terrible for candidates tournament, because some players will cooperate. Matches are the only suitable way IMO, but they need to be longer with no-draw rules.

Re: Rybka 4 beaten blindfold by neurosurgeon

http://www.chessblog.com/2011/04/computer-chess-programme-rybka-4-beaten.html This one's for all humanity. Ukrainian Andrew Slyusarchuk, 39 years old, neurosurgeon by profession, has taken on Rybka-4 and beaten him(her/it) blindfold! Nope, he's not a grandmaster (and doesn't intend to give Vishy An...

Re: The silence of Robert Houdart

I'd stake good money on it in fact. How much, what odds? More than you could ever afford. Because you know him and know how much he can afford? Or because you're presenting your new 3-step guide "How to make a clown of yourself, by C. Conkie": 1. Talk bullshit, and pretend you'd put your money wher...

Re: Previous World Champion Engine Authors Speak Out...

I agree that Hyatt being in the committee seems wrong. Hyatt to me is one of the main accusers, he has systematically gathered, structured and argued for the evidence that Rybka is a Fruit clone. People who have such direct involvement (on any side) cannot be considered "impartial judges". The best...
