Re: Legal status of Eman?

An easy way to bring down the losses would be to include an opening book. You'd just copy Brainfish and maybe hide the the immediate moves. Nah, Eman doesn't have a need for that, as it has a built-in "experience file", that learns from games as it plays. It would be trivial for the author to infla...

Re: Legal status of Eman?

Despite all the paragraph riding, it is simply against the GPL philosophy. I can see that, if it wasn't this thread wouldn't exist. But going against its philosophy is not the same as violating it. And for all I know, maybe all the other people that got the engine requested the source code and got ...

Legal status of Eman?

I find really weird that I haven't seen much talk about the engine Eman. It is a Stockfish derivative, and I have to say it's the most impressive derivative I've evers seen. Perhaps, it is the strongest engine that has been installed on my hardware, ever, and by a lot. This thing is FAST, and I have...

Re: Komodo 13 released

Where do I set MultiPV under the Shredder GUI? It seems that you can't set MutiPV under the Shredder GUI (it hides the setting in engine options, and doesn't allow to set it directly; I had to make my own compile of McCain that calls it "MultiPW" just to fix this.) The best you can do is using the ...

the antidotes against the poisons of the soul: Against arrogance, humility. Against envy, charity. Against anger patience. Against lust, chastity. Against greed, generosity. Against gluttony, temperance. Against laziness, diligence. These ideas are the poison. There's a whole realm of illnesses cau...

Re: Pause calculation / analysis engines

Saving the hash and restarting the analysis after reloading it is not the same as continuing the analysis undisturbed. Depends on the implementation. Jeremy Bernstein's Persistent Hash implementation for Stockfish TCEC6 was the same as continuing the analysis undisturbed (except scores from future ...

I believe that both Komodo and Komodo MCTS share the same code and it is not fair to have them as seperate engines.
This is a common thing for the CCRL, as Fritz 16 is +90% Rybka 4, and they have them as separate engines.
