Re: Out of the Kai 450 positions, 99 not found by SF

Thanks. I can't believe how horrible the quality of the play is. At a time control of 10 moves in 50 days? With open access to chess engines? What about this https://www.iccf.com/game?id=1019339 or this https://www.iccf.com/game?id=1019281 or this https://www.iccf.com/game?id=1019332 (all from same...

Re: planned weekly komodo vs human series on chess.com

I think it would be helpful if it was separated from Contempt. In my experience for analysis of correspondence games, it's easier to defeat weaker opposition in closed positions (not too close that you can't make progress, but of the kind where the middle game has most pawns, usually locked in the c...

Re: Out of the Kai 450 positions, 99 not found by SF

Your claim that each of your first 17 moves was the BEST MOVE shows me that your definition of BEST MOVE is unusable It's only "unusable" for silly "chess analysis" where all moves are equal because all of them go from a position that is drawn with best play to another that is drawn with best play....

Hey, look! https://funkyimg.com/i/2WibU.png The *air quotes* World Champion *air quotes* in 5th place! Welcome to the real world! They have the strongest software around, and they even allow Opening Books instead of repeating silly openings for both sides! Looks like people are doing something right...

Re: Are there rating lists that test material handicap games?

Something to try:

Random mover with extra queen against normal engine without a queen. If normal engine wins all the games then it means there's a series of playing algorithms that cover all possible elos from this to the point an algorithm with the extra queen can win every game.

Re: planned weekly komodo vs human series on chess.com

😇😇 I would like to play against Komodo, but I am not a tittled chess player. 🙋‍♂️🙏🙏 We only play with increments, having no interest in seeing games decided by lag. If you still want to try some games, presumably to see whether you can get fortress draws, it might be worth some games to see whether...

Even with this metric it is possible that 2 moves are the same. Here is a simple example 3k4/8/8/8/8/3p4/3K1N2/8 w - - 2 1 At least you didn't post a position with just two naked Kings  So, can white win here with some series of black moves? Then, assume black wants to get checkmated, and it ...

Re: 'Deus X' Unveiled as FAT FRITZ PROJECT...

The Rybka Cluster all over again... Yes, but Lc0 hardly scales beyond 2 GPUs. I don't know what you're implying... The Rybka Cluster was a big failure, because with all the money you'd use renting it, eventually you could buy decent hardware, and outperform it with "regular software" (the best ches...

Re: Nh4 is hard to find, but the stats will tell you it is right

This is a position from 2015, so if Leela was able to send moves in time to the past, with 100M nodes it'd have been able to defeat any defense by Dann Corbit's analysis methods, making Bc1 better than Nh4. This would be an example of analysis obsolescence, and I wonder if new stats can be produced ...
