Re: Komodo MCTS

The engine BrainLearn from Kelly Kinyama produces significantly more files than 8. Nearly 900 What am I doing wrong?? You're not doing anything wrong. If you read my post carefully, I wrote, 8 files per single different opening- line. As much different openings, as much .bin- files (except experien...

Re: Komodo MCTS

Hi Mark! Any plans to implement position- learning to komodo (MCTS)? Works fine for me in StockLearn, which derived from an idea of Kelly Kinyama, as far as I know, has something to do with kind of MCTS too. Marco Zerbinati (SugaR_MCTS) and Andrea Manzo (ShashChess and StockLearn) gave GPL- Code of...

Re: Komodo MCTS

Past learning schemes (like the one I had in my program NOW) basically were schemes to save important search results, that would then reload into the hash table so in future games it would "lean" to avoid certainly lines, or encourage other better performing lines. It was a bit helpful in a tournam...

Re: TCEC S15, END of an ERA event is much more Brutal than I thought!

A new possible challenge for LC0. in his latest book Garry Kasparov still states that “Centaur mode” is still the best expression of strength in chess games. I am doubtful after witnessing how LC0 defeated Stockfish. In order to test Kasparov's ipothesis I would suggest the following challenge: GM ...

Re: TCEC S15, END of an ERA event is much more Brutal than I thought!

LOS for 10-3 score is 97%, and the confidence interval is 94%, a bit lower than 2 standard deviations. Likelyhood of Superiority. Ah, I see, but that wasn't my question, was it? Superiority could be for a single game out of 100 won with 99 draws too. :) I thought, we would measure engine- strength ...

Re: TCEC S15, END of an ERA event is much more Brutal than I thought!

After 99/100 games in TCEC S15 SuFi the score is indeed +14 -7 =78. Sometimes I have an inhuman ability to predict the outcome months in advance Four openings were a double 1-0, so it could be argued that those are losing positions and should not count. In that case we'd be looking at +10 -3 =79. I...
