Re: Does any engine find the best move here...

Hi,

Yes, Kh1 is winning, but the best is Ng4 which my engine Ratassada 10.43X finds in 1.16 minutes on my PC.

1 + 4.31 Ng4 Kh8 2. Nh6 Rg8 3. Nxf7 Kg7 4. Nh6 Kh8 etc...

Best regards,

Re: The future of chess and elo ratings

Hi Larry, If the target is to see which engine is the best, I agree with you. The reasons of so many draws are the following: - Improved opening books playing the best lines only with deep variations. - Incresed of engine strenght. - Elo strenght of best engine very close. My suggestion to improve t...

Re: New: Perfect 2014 c/t opening books are released!

Re: Stockfish depth vs. others; challenge

Marco, The depth search of Stockfish is impressive and I see improvements on the search also on very recent versions, but still it looks to me that the setting is not optimized. With a setting I made "called" Ratassada, I am getting better results regardless the engine version. Basically I see Stock...

Re: Reasons of the crisis... : some are evident !

Hi, I do not mean protected, but that useless and "noisy" discussions are somehow allowed. I am only interested in discussions which let understand things and clarify matters. I understand these may be too technical, but after many years of involvement this is something that becomes normal I think. ...

Re: Reasons of the crisis... : some are evident !

Hi Marc, I agree with you, but I think the crisis is in reality a sort of evolution that occured: 1. Some people are only interested in which one is the best engine and if the strongest one is clearly the best there is no discussion and no interest to discuss anything. 2. Not having at least two eng...
