Re: How to properly test new/changed opening books?

Thanks for your answer. You can try to play some games say 100 games or more. Get 2 same engines say sf9, one using the old book and the other using the new book. If new book performs above 50% then it is better. AFAIK, many engines such as sf (and mine) don't use their own books. In other hand, ma...

Re: How to properly test new/changed opening books?

Please share some your experiences/methodologies to test new/twisted opening books. I have just created a new opening book from carefully-selected games but not sure if it’s better than old ones. Thanks You can try to play some games say 100 games or more. Get 2 same engines say sf9, one using the ...

Re: MRL - The MEA Rating List

Looks reasonable well. IMO you can also make a graph from the 10 sec results vs the CEGT 40/20 list since the time control used is based on the hardware of 2006, when they started. Plot for 10s/pos and CEGT 40/20, https://i.imgur.com/lcuUDIU.png Data points: 18 Player MEAScore CEGT40/20 MEARating E...

Re: MRL - The MEA Rating List

Rating rate comparison as movetime increases. Higher is better. Arasan gained more going from 1s to 5s at r=1.172.

Re: MRL - The MEA Rating List

My experience with Fizbo 2 is that it supports movetime but is not optimal, if you let it search for 10s for example with, go movetime 10000 it will only search less than 10s or exactly 16ms. uci id name Fizbo 2 id author Youri Matiounine option name Threads type spin default 1 min 1 max 56 option n...

Re: Chess Tools

Thanks Ferdy! I will try it again. Do you believe that I can change multiple chess engines options with .cfg file? For example Cdrill : Material Weight = 280 Pawn Structure Weight = 170 Passed Pawn Weight = 90 Mobility Weight = 200 Threat Weight = 300 King Attack Weight = 30 King Shelter Weight = 2...

Re: Chess Tools

But seems that i cant configure these options with Aiquiri.cfg. For example Skill Level = 10 for stockfish didn"t change anything. Stockfish engine as a slave continues to analyse at Skill Level 20. Any idea? I tried using skill level 10 in SF, and use the following cfg. [slave1] # Stockfish 9 Hash...
