Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship

I think using ponder is a joke, they should give 90+ threads to each engine with no ponder, and it would be way better. Ponder should hurt all the other CPU engines but maybe not so much with Leela because she's using GPU. Unless she is playing against another NN engine I think. Well, she also uses...

Re: The Baron 3.43 x64

Hi, The Baron 3.43 can not be run in either CB or Arena on my machine. Is there a trick to make it work? Or, is it a beta version? Thanks for the infos. My guess is that it will immediately close from commandline if you try? IIRC it does not like missing the english.lng file in its folder. Di...

Re: TCEC Division 3 results simulator

Okay, got it now. I gave Ethereal and Arasan +40 and +50, so will give Xiphos +45, Texel and Vajolet +20, and ChessBrain 5. Does that figure? "Gull", 0, 3184, "Texel", 0, 3145+20, "Xiphos", 0, 3181+45, "ChessBrainVB", 0, 3128+5, "Nirvana", 0, 3187, "Vajolet", 0, 3101+20, "Ethereal", 0, 3335, "Arasa...

Re: TCEC Division 3 results simulator

Thanks for those, I was just actually in the process of making some adjusts already: "Gull", 0, 3184, "Texel", 0, 3145, "Xiphos", 0, 3181, "ChessBrainVB", 0, 3128, "Nirvana", 0, 3187, "Vajolet", 0, 3101, "Ethereal", 0, 3335, "Arasan", 0, 3174, The same as yours, but I gave Ethereal some pts to adju...

Re: TCEC Division 3 results simulator

Division 3 decided. Ethereal and Arasan go through. Well done Ethereal programmer, that's a really nice speculative evaluator you programmed there, some of the main line scores were seriously impressive, almost neural network-like. And well done John Dart, well deserved! Meanwhile, sim promotion pr...

I also intuit that "something has changed" part way through the event.
same settings as before:

Code: Select all

Protocol=uci; Move time overhead in milliseconds=2000; Time weight curve peak ply=37; Aggressive smart pruning threshold=0.604; Scale thinking time=3.05;

I mean KBPPvKPP.

My fault :)
But this is marked red (not yet available) on the already previously published list (niklas' post):

Re: TCEC Division 3 results simulator

I think the leela fans prefer "leela was disconnected", which if it is the case may allow the game to be replayed according to the rules. I want to add that also Hannibal 'disconnected' just a few games before this game. No one questions though, if it really was its fault. (missing fan hype?) May b...

What would have been the results of it's games, had it not disconnected? With another couple of points from there it would be in second place.
The two lost games by rule would have scored 1/2 (one game was winning and one lost).
