Re: 11258-32x4-se distilled network released

With the 112*9se network nps increases may be by a factor of 5-6. But this is not the only positive aspect. Due to passive cooling it always went too hot before even with an open case, while it now runs around 10-15 degrees lower in non bullet games. Currently testing against Laser 1.7. Results so ...

Re: Lc0 ... the GOOD and the BAD

One more "Bad" thing with Lc0 play was how it totally mis-evaluates an extra queen. I had seen this in several games in my tourneys, but yesterday this also happened in TCEC. Lc0 happily went into an endgame where SF had an extra Queen for a rook and thought things were just fine. Here is the posit...

Re: CCRL 40/40, 40/4 and FRC lists updated (16th February 2019)

... I don't know if there are any Chess engines that store their eval parameters in a separate parameter file (e.g. to facilitate tuning without having to recompile), but I know for sure that most Shogi engines do this. (E.g. for Bonanza you would have to download a >200MB file with eval parameters...

Is there anything besides the README on github?
Same thought here, checked it a few days ago, but nada - strange 'github' usage.

Re: LCZero Network question

I downloaded the network 36089. It only has 11 MB. That's not much more than destilled networks, running well on CPU only! Question: Why is the network so small? (Normally these networks have around 40 MB) Btw: CCRL Rating list: Lc0 w36089 1 CPU 3022 Elo! Not bad. The short-lived NN35 series were j...
