Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship

Not far off. Will continue to be shocked there isn’t an adequate if not necessarily legal jerryrigged hybrid floating around. If lc0 + 3rd party doesn’t do it my money would be on Komodo or Houdini making a splash commercially.

Re: Something goes wrong with lc0 since yesterday?

We don’t know specifics about their search (ive read they’ve been evasive when asked even general questions); we do know stockfish had a suboptimal setup and the openings used, which were 1-6 ply , much fewer than typically tested. 0 ply for the 100-game match they and media focus on, ignoring the ...

Have you tried 28 threads with 256MB hash? The one egregious flaw in the A0-SF8 match was the hash table. I don’t think anything shared in the DeepMind paper is bogus. We don’t know specifics about their search (ive read they’ve been evasive when asked even general questions); we do know stockfish h...

Re: Analysis help for those with the processing power

A bit deeper analysis with multi-pv shows that the top 3 move choices are all very drawish, at least according to Stockfish: I wouldn't trust Stockfish. Stockfish still has many weaknesses in its evaluations. For example I noticed that many times Stockfish weakens his own kingside which is not good...
