Re: Arasan20 testsuite VS 4 top solvers

The 4 top solvers are : Crystal-291220, SugaR.AI.ICCF.1.00, ShashChess15.1 and Bluefish-12-W First, I ran a fast pass to discard all "easy" positions. I reran the rest of the positions during 120 seconds with 1 core (old i7-4 GHz). Here are the timings for positions that requires more than 20 secon...

Re: Chessbase Database issue

I was exporting the Caissabase (+4 million games) to PGN in SCID, and then imported it into ChessBase without any problems. Huge file but no problem. I‘ve used the newest ChessBase version though. Great if you could take a large database say 5 million games in a chessbase format and then convert it...

Re: Chessbase Database issue

Try the pgn tools by eman . Yes but that is for pgn's.... I cant make my database into a pgn.... my database is too large and goes over the 2 GB limit. Now if you know a way to take the chessbase database and turn it into a PGN file that is 8 GB's I would love to use that tool. Chessbase can create...

Chessbase Database issue

Hello I have a large database of roughly 5 million games. I tried to in Chessbase 12 to run find duplicates after I updated it. It starts out ok but after a while it just slows to a crawl. After 48 hours it was stuck at 38% complete. I tried to break it up into a PGN but it says the file limit is 2 ...

Build tester issue

I have been using build tester for a while without a problem. On both of my computers when I try to use it I get this error. I tried reinstalling and had the same issue.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? Thanks for the help

Ranking for problem solving engines

I swear we used to have a thread that ranked problem solving engines. I was curious which engine would be best, I see crystal, a new sting, and black diamond. Thanks for the help!

Re: buying a new computer

I am looking for a new computer since it has been a while. I saw a 2990wx with 16 GB ram, 2080ti, 500 SSD drive for 3k. Overall do you think this is a reasonable deal? Will this be a good setup for a few years? I know new chips are coming out, but will this be good "bang for your buck"? I know a few...

Computer Processor Rating List?

I know we have lots of tests to say that SF March 1st is said 3300 and SF May 1st would be 3350 or so. I also know a list like Ipman can give us the speed increase of nodes for many processors. However, I had a friend ask me what would be the rating of different computers. He has Q6600, and an I7 37...
