Re: CEGT - rating lists June 08th 2014
Hi Larry, on my i7-4770k @ 3,4 GHZ I use 40/8 and IIRC Werner and Johann (our main 40/20 testers) have similar machines. Best Wolfgang Thanks! So it's practically the same level as the 5' plus 3" list if you allow for ponder on in that list. A bit longer, but not significantly so. This makes the dr...

Re: Komodo loses the TCEC supermatch but wins the final game
I have made comments elsewhere about Nelson having to stick with 8 opening moves,on some openings it should be more and others less,i hope this will be adopted in next TCEC and give Nelson more freedom in his use of openings esp those used in current GM practice. Also of course some neglected openin...

Re: Komodo loses the TCEC supermatch but wins the final game
You may well be right but the First 8 book moves were put up by Nelson from his stats to see how each engine could deal with position,SF drew and Komodo won.

Re: Komodo loses the TCEC supermatch but wins the final game
Yes I too noticed the Black Queen was totally immobilized all this time,i agree with your assessment of the game. I thought Kings Gambit was a dead duck at this level and at best good for a draw. Wonder how top engines would handle Sicilian Wing Gambit with big hardware and long time control.I had m...

Re: Komodo loses the TCEC supermatch but wins the final game
Yes the critical position out of the opening! I wonder if Komodo's move is a TN? It really seemed like a risky choice but Komodo seemed very happy with that line. However I will say that SF also thought that this was the best line in its PV. The evaluations though were totally different. My databas...

You cannot deny that Komodo won last game in brilliant fashion though.

Re: Komodo Syzygy evals
The setting of 2 is already the most aggressive; using 9 or 10 would mean fewer tb accesses. Those with very slow hard drives might want to use a higher value than 2, perhaps 6 would be reasonable. Values below 2 seem to just be bad. Things are not so simple as you put it. It would be helpful if Ro...
