Re: can stockfish with book beat leela without book?

The top contenders in such competitions consist of narrow books targeted at stockfish and filled with killer lines. I wouldn't say that a good wider and useful book is anywhere near 100 elo. Ron A good book is worth about 100 Elo https://sites.google.com/site/computerschess/scct-book-cs-23 SCCT XXII...

Re: Aquarium IDEA question.

It is virtually undocumented which is why fanboys have created videos. The software is also extremely buggy. If you don't mind supporting such bad behavior with money, go for it. The company will never get anymore of mine. As a computer programmer myself, calling the software a disgrace, is too kin...

Re: Komodo MCTS

Stability issues due to MC developments? That's a bit troublesome! Since MC is integrated in the same exe I take it that subscribers will have to wait longer for the next installment of Komodo standard as well.

Komodo MCTS

It has been a silent few months for Komodo to make progress on MCTS. I was wondering whether or not Mark and Larry deem MCTS ready to have a go at the next TCEC Premier division instead of the standard Komodo? The latter one is not likely to pose any real danger to Stockfish so why not have their ne...

Re: LC0 ver 0.16.0 ID 10520 vs Deep Shredder 13 x64 40/4

What is your reasoning for keeping it enabled? Common test protocol and practice is with PONDER OFF for good reason. I am sure a man with your experience knows this all too well. In this case only Shredder is allowed to ponder during the opponents time. Furthermore, while pondering Shredder will com...

Re: LC0 ver 0.16.0 ID 10520 vs Deep Shredder 13 x64 40/4

Here is the final score of the rematch using the modified settings. https://image.ibb.co/n9rs89/Untitled.png With "Permanent brain" still active in Shredder the rerun is still irrelevant as pointed out earlier by Javier. Since you did not mention changing it I guess you decided to keep it enabled, ...

Re: Call to all Engine Programers to complain to TCEC

This is not correct that any implementation of alpha-beta is extremely similiar to a previous one. There are difference rules of pruning difference rules of extensions different rules for order of moves. The heart of an engine is the if-then part. Not numbers that are not part of the exe file. I li...

Re: LC0 as an IDeA engine

Do you have a contact email? I've looked on their pages but can't see an obvious one The best is to open an issue on github here: https://github.com/LeelaChessZero/lc0/issues And possibly ping SashaMN directly, who implemented similar functionality (searchmoves) here: https://github.com/LeelaChessZ...

Seems the main branch is dead again. So id 395 is still probably the best since 1 month or 2 I guess.
- maybe not dead but just 'hesitating' :?
- yes, test far from complete but so far 395 still comfortably beats 468
