I think the two bishops are too powerful here for white's knight and pawn. I'm glad I posted this pos...

Re: Only stockfish sees advantage in this position?

Oh no -- it is NOT a bug. In fact it is from an engine match -- here's the pgn Stockfish beats Rybka 4.1 - Rybka thinks its almost even but stockfish immediately thinks its advantage for black as early as move 40 [Event "New4superEbattle"] [Site "match"] [Date "2012.11.08"] [Round "5"] [White "Rybka...

Only stockfish sees advantage in this position?

Take a look at the following position
[D]6k1/1R6/8/4b1K1/8/4N3/5P2/1b5r b - - 9 62 B

Only stockfish sees significant advantage for black not even houdini sees this.

Any ideas or thoughts?

I am sure strong players will find this move - I found the move and I am not that good ...
there are other factors that influence the player not finding the move ... fatigue / time trouble ....

I just dont see anything uncommon here.

Re: Is computer chess "solved"?

in the position, the best five moves lead to a draw, however, 2 of the moves create a greater number of chances down the road for the opponent to lose, whereas the other three lead to fewer chances. Then there is one move which may lead to dangers of losing (which I will not fall for as I am perfec...

Re: It is time to revolutionize chess GUIs

The word Understanding of course is what you misunderstand. ... Understanding how to approach the game ... how to win with better tactics, how to place your pieces on the best squares etc ..... I am defining understanding quite differently .. Hard work can only take you so far ... A good indication ...
