Re: The "IQ" test - update
I changed: 15, 71 are more difficult, in 4, 20, 39, 49 some obvious first moves are skipped. [Result "1"] [FEN "rkr5/p5p1/Pp4Kp/8/3B4/1B6/8/8 w - - 0 1"] 1. Be5 {win} [Result "2"] [FEN "7k/6rp/6pN/1r4P1/3B4/8/8/K7 b - - 0 1"] 1... Rxg5 [Result "3"] [FEN "1B1k4/3p4/1Kp5/PpP2p2/1PqP1P2/8/1P6/8 w - - 0...

Re: Sting SF 25
The hashtable is not common for two (not one) engines and it can sometimes make a difference. It is possible to make an auto-play(ing) manually. Start a search(ing), stop it, skip one move (it is possible to skip more moves too) and start search(ing) again (don't clear the hash table!), stop it, ski...

Re: The "IQ" test - update
The "IQ" test doesn't contain middle-game tactical positions and technical endgames. Here are positions dedicated to test so-called by me "quasi-intelligent" abilities of engines. Don't use such tricks like: rule-50 changing, null-move disabling, backward-forward, special parameters (versions) and ...

Re: The "IQ" test - update
I decided to remove two examples of this test. Why? At first, in both there is possibility to make solutions much longer. [d]B7/p1p5/k2p4/p3p3/P1Nb1p2/6p1/7p/4K3 w - - {Ke1->c8} 34 - white King can starts from e.g. the a3 square. [d]3k4/8/7p/2p1p1pP/1pPpPpP1/1P1P1P2/N7/2K5 w - - {Na2->h4} 81 - white...

Re: Sting SF 25
Okay, good (because auto-play probably counts as a "trick" too). You are wrong. If you start the auto-play(ing), you don't change anything. It is only the other way (alternative) to get a solution, especially if it is very long and a "horizon effect" appears, and search(ing) is not able to do it. S...

Re: Sting SF 25
The main goal of my work is to prove that a chess (alpha-beta) engine is able, without some dirty tricks or external tools or selective code or artifical intelligence, to solve all positions from the above-mentioned "IQ" test. I believe that it is possible to do (implement) it without any ELO loss ...

Re: the "Black Hole" generator ("AI")
But it is not the end of the "Black Hole" idea. The first problem: One of many decisions is wrong but has huge advantage (described above). The second problem: One of many decision is good but a success is far or out of range. It needs an "intuition" and Sting 25 has it. To prove it, I selected: nat...

Re: the "Black Hole" generator ("AI")
At first, time usded by Sting it is a reason of my very old and slow computer mainly. I never use a special commands to run searching of Sting (no cheating!). I like that other engines (CFish, Crystal ...) try to make engines "normal" too. I hope that not only Sting is able to solve 100/100 position...
