Re: Komodo 13 released

@larry - Can you explain what the search tree looks like in layman's terms? I'm curious as to how this operates.

Re: Komodo 13 released

How many rollouts per second does one core of K13.01 achieve? I know this will differ greatly based on processor and processor speed, but is there a rough way to know?

Re: Komodo 13 released

Above Larry estimated the increase for the AB version as 10 elo points. Are you saying this is "considerable?" I'm not being snarky - I'm honestly curious. Re: AMD BMI2 question

Leela and GTX 1660 ti

Can anyone tell me, based on the reviews today, whether Leela will run well on the GTX 1660 ti? On the one hand they say that there are no tensor cores, but the editor of Anandtech says in a tweet that there are dedicated FP16 cores. Is that the same thing? I'm not up on graphics cards at all - neve...

I'm told Chessbase 15 should do so shortly.

Komodo 12.3 is out

Which of these to use with a Ryzen chip? He cites the -modern version in the bench, but if it's for Haswell forward, doesn't that have bmi2 isntructions?

Re: Stockfish 10 and 2nd Gen Ryzen Question

The 2500U has four cores and eight threads. https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-5-2500u I'd set the cpu to four threads, matching your number of physical cores. I don't think hyperthreading is worth it, especially on a laptop. You could set to three if you wanted to keep some processing po...

Re: Stockfish 10 and 2nd Gen Ryzen Question

Use popcnt or modern, depending on who did the compile. BMI2 is comparatively slow on Ryzen.
