I don't remember what collection I used. Here is a listing of the number of checkmates in my database, ordered by direct mate distance: select dm, count(dm) as countdm from Epd where dm > 0 group by dm dm countdm 2 1067600 18 3830 27 1127 68 3213 70 2780 95 46 104 10 109 13 118 10 143 46 152 11 159 ...

Re: deepdebt

One should have created a money machine first before spending dollars on research. Otherwise it won't work. Money machine can be taxes or a software program with many users paying for their licenses each year. People with great ideas should keep them secret. That will learn that research is not for...

Re: GooglePlex Starthinker

If you run strip on it, it will go from 3.7MB to 500KB in size.
For me, I can only build it with CLANG. GCC won't make a binary.

Re: Crafty 25.3 Release

I made a code::blocks project that will build crafty using gcc on Windows. Re: Building PC

In fact, I might run 250 instances of a chess program with 1 thread each (leaving a few threads idle to keep the machine responsive). The reason is that there is no SMP loss at one thread per engine instance. I've done thought-experiments with such architectures. My main issue is how to organize th...
