Re: CCCC and TCEC hardware is unfair?

{snip} And now with CCC/TCEC hardware they both are within 30 elo, either SF or Leela will likely be champion.(Unusual odd can happen in small sample size tournament though) Right now $1200 2080Ti on leela is very close to $1300 16 cores SF Dev. (within 30 elo in favour of SF), so it is very fair f...

Re: Nice EG fortress

Even analyzing in reverse with 40 plies was not sufficient. However, setting the depth to 45 plies showed my tweaked SF the light. It's definitely a draw. 7k/4N1nq/8/7p/b4B1P/8/2p2N2/2K5 b - - acd 45; acs 80; bm Be8; ce 0; pm Be8; pv Be8 Bd2 Bd7 Bf4; 7k/4N1nq/8/7p/b6P/8/2pB1N2/2K5 w - - acd 45; acs ...

Re: Nice EG fortress

I am doing a study analyzing the moves in reverse right now.
We will see if that draws any interesting points to light.

Re: How important is an opening database to a computer?

It would be interesting to see how Komodo will do against GM Nakamura or MVL with f2 or f7 pawn odd on 5 different random chess960 positions. I think it will turn out the opposite to what everyone supposes. Chess 960 will benefit the computer and not the human, and by a lot. What I mean by that is ...

Re: How important is an opening database to a computer?

As far as strength goes, it is measured at 121.7 Elo here for a very good book verses no book (wide error margin): https://sites.google.com/site/computerschess/scct-book-cs-19 And 50 Elo here (the only difference between Brainfish and Stockfish is Brainfish has a special opening book): https://www.s...

Re: 3 million games for training neural networks

Hi, I had my 8-core Ryzen 7 computer spend about 2 months generating quick Stockfish-vs-Stockfish games. The result is 3 million games that I think could be used for training neural networks, or to tune evaluation functions. I have the games available in PGN format with comments that include the sc...
