Re: Seer

Seer will not run properly on my old i5. I'm using ChessGUI. It doesn't display any info for close to 30 seconds and then makes a move that has around depth 7. Hmm. Did you download the save.bin weights file from the release page and set the "Weights" UCI option to the absolute path to the weights ...

Re: ShashChess Dev v Stockfish 12 (8CPU match with LTC)

GAME 4 As white, ShashChess makes the mistake of allowing a big kingside assault by Stockfish. Although ShashChess survives the attack, the cost is high, with a lost endgame being the consequence. First blood to Stockfish, which leads by +1 =3 -0. [Event "ShashChess 8CPU v SF 8CPU"] [Site "ChessGUI...

Re: ShashChess Dev v Stockfish 12 (8CPU match with LTC)

GAME 3 In an English line where black plays f5, Stockfish (as white) initiates play on the queenside and in the centre, rather than wait for possible kingside expansion from black. Files open and the major pieces come off in a great hurry, leaving a dead drawn endgame. [Event "ShashChess 8CPU v SF ...

Re: ShashChess Dev v Stockfish 12 (8CPU match with LTC)

GAME 2 As black, Stockfish centres early attention on the queenside, and eventually gives up a pawn to win the exchange. However, a well-placed knight on c6 and bishop on e5 pretty much leaves Stockfish devoid of chances. ShashChess initiates a tactical melee with c5, but both sides have evaluated ...

Re: ShashChess Dev v Stockfish 12 (8CPU match with LTC)

GAME 1 In a Polish opening, ShashChess eyes up the kingside, and following a redeployment of pieces, advances with h5 and g4. The pawn sac on g4 looks dangerous for white, but Stockfish counters on the queenside, and with careful defense, all ShashChess has is a perpetual. A nice game all-round. [E...

I don't participate there because of the vitriolic content, but, if you close it, some of those (off) topics might easily spill over in here.
Agreed, so I vote for 3.
