Re: Lc0 in CCC matches

I think they should go to double sized networks, like FF2. On high end hardware at decent time controls, 384x30 are clearly the strongest amongst those tested by the LC0 group. I have found on my hardware the big networks are considerably stronger tactically. Since tactical strength appears to be a...

In CCC one thread SF (NNUE) beats 250 threads Ethereal! And plays equal to 250 threads Komodo or SF classic. Definitely doubling of cores don't give 70 ELO anymore :) .
It looks like you did not know before that engine strength tapers over time like 'rat tail'

Re: Anti-Engine Puzzle

Some people feel proud that they found the puzzles that engines are hard to solve. If the puzzles are " too hard to solve" by engines, then those positions are unlikely to occour in real chess or rubbish positions. In fact, Stockfish get bettter and better by selectively searching and excluding sear...

Re: Suggestions for a new PC

Hi, I need that it has at least 8 physical cores, mainly to run engine vs engine blitz tournaments, 1 core per engine, no ponder (at least 7 simultaneous games). Also to analyze chess games. I guess 16 GB RAM might be enough. OTOH, what would be a good GPU for that PC so Lc0 could compete vs SF wit...

Re: Suggestions for a new PC

So with this integrated graphics, I guess Lc0 can't run at full strength. Can Leela use a TPU instead of a GPU? I tried Googling it, but didn't get a clear answer - if I'm lucky, someone here will know! I am sure , the answer is "No". There is no LCO code written for TPU. (TPU code is written by De...

Re: An actual interesting computer chess read about FF2

Obviously observer biased error with cherry pick positions.
Give him unknown copy of FF2 and SF13 and let him analyse about 10 to 20 positions.
Let us know what he think is better. 😁😁😁

How much stronger is SF Dev compared with SF 12? I ask because they claim +40 elo with regard to Fat Fritz, but SF Dev must be close or more than 40 elo above it.
Around +30 elo in Stockfish Regression Test conditions!
